Israeli officials say the countrys warplanes destroyed an underground bunker in a residential area after receiving information that the groups leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was convening a meeting there. Several apartment buildings were flattened.

Israel said the newest attacks early Saturday destroyed Hezbollah weapons. They came only hours after Israel flattened several residential buildings in an attempt to kill Hassan Nasrallah, the groups leader.

Israeli and American officials said the attacks were intended to kill Hassan Nasrallah, the head of the Iranian-backed militia, and to take out weapons caches. Before the second round of attacks early Saturday, Israel issued public warnings and residents fled.

The drop in oil prices was halted on Friday after Israel‘s strikes against Hezbollah‘s headquarters in Lebanon, but prices of the commodity still dipped overall for the week.
